Huppeli – A Local Pub in Rovaniemi
What is Huppeli? Huppeli is a relaxed and welcoming pub in Ounasrinne, just outside the city centre. Since 1992, Huppeli has been a place where locals and visitors can enjoy good drinks, beer, games and a genuine Finnish pub atmosphere. Huppeli is open every day of the year.
At Huppeli, you can enjoy a drink with friends, sing karaoke, play darts or board games or try Tuppi, a traditional Finnish card game. Our karaoke playlist is updated regularly and includes a wide selection of Finnish and international songs. Our programme includes pub quizzes, bingo, music quizzes and other events throughout the year.
If you are looking for a bar in Rovaniemi with a local atmosphere, Huppeli offers something a little different from the busy tourist spots in the city centre. Come as you are, grab a drink and spend an evening like a local.

The Story of Huppeli
In 1981, the Ounaskeskus shopping center was built in Ounasrinne. The end of the building originally housed a local post office. As times changed and post offices closed down, the space became the perfect spot for a neighborhood pub.
In 1992, a bar called Huppeli opened its doors. For over 30 years, Huppeli has served as a second living room for the locals—a place to share life's ups and downs, news, laughter, and everyday moments. Even though Huppeli is a cozy neighborhood pub with a loyal regular crowd, it is known for its warm hospitality: there is always a free seat and a friendly welcome for new faces and visitors.

Activities & Things to Do at Huppeli
Karaoke: Sing your heart out with the Feelment system, featuring over 60,000 songs, including a massive selection of Finnish hits and international classics. Karaoke is available whenever there isn't another scheduled event.
Pub Quiz (Wednesdays at 19:00, in Finnish): A casual individual quiz covering music, movies, history, geography, sports, and a surprise category.
Tuppi Card Game (Mondays at 18:00): Try Tuppi, a traditional Northern Finnish card game. Beginner-friendly—no partner or previous experience needed!
Bingo & Music Bingo (Saturdays at 18:00): Classic number bingo followed by fun Music Bingo, where you match playing songs to your card. (Note: On the last Saturday of the month, bingo takes place right after the Music Quiz).
Music Quiz (Last Saturday of the month at 19:00, in Finnish): A 20-question team quiz (1–4 people per team) covering everything from pop to heavy metal.
Darts: Two dartboards equipped with 24g darts—perfect for casual games or bigger group competitions.
Board Games & Newspapers: Over 40 board games available (like Alias, Trivial Pursuit, and Monopoly), plus local newspapers, crosswords, and Sudokus.
Jukebox & Slot Machines: Pick your favorite tracks from the TouchTunes jukebox or try your luck with two slot machines.
Summer BBQ: In the summer, guests are free to use the gas grill on the outdoor terrace to cook up some sausages.
Food from Next Door: Grab a pizza or kebab from Ounastori Pizza & Kebab next door and enjoy it inside Huppeli with a cold drink!
